Love wins in 2020. Okay…so it has been a weird year. I mean REALLY weird…but the weddings I got to share in were extra special.

We’re in England. It was the hottest summer EVER. Dry. As. A. Bone. August Bank holiday…. what is going to happen ?
Anna and Sam had planned an amazing wedding, and worked so hard to make it happen. The reception was in Sam’s parents back garden, and his mum had worked so hard to make it look gorgeous. They wanted to get married at the local church just 5 minutes down the lane. Except the church hadn’t been used for years. No lighting, no heating and no vicar! In the end they had to contact the actual Bishop of Canterbury to get this off the ground .. but they did it! ( He didn’t conduct the wedding, but they needed his sign off to get a vicar down to the church !!)
Now I understand that no one really wants rain on their wedding day. It’s not how you’d imagined your August summer wedding… but if it does rain, well you just have to embrace it as part of the story of your day, and this is exactly what Anna and Sam did. Wellies and brollies and endless smiles and laughter meant the rain couldn’t dampen their day.
Lucky for us there was an incredible Air B&B that Anna and her crew got ready in just 2 minutes down the road so we headed back there for some EPIC group shots. Some of my favourite ever.
And even though the rain didn’t really stop is certainly didn’t stop this wedding GOING OFF! What a wicked day of amazing people ( and dogs ).
So my parting words are, if it rains on your wedding day … DANCE IN IT, it’s your day so love it hard and all its weather !
Anna wore THE most beautiful and elegant Pronovias dress from Victoria Robson Bridal. Which looked wicked with teamed with her wellies and rain mac !!
Sam wore a Hugo Boss suit, and the beautiful flowers were by Annas very clever bridesmaid Siobhan. Top job lady !
The incredible food was by Claras Kitchen ….SO TASTY !!!
and finally the stunning marquee with its clear roof was from Marquee Vision
